ABOUT THE OWNER
Gaige Clark, founder, owner, and Creative Director, of
SPRUCE grew up in Hudson, Massachusetts, and comes
from a family of New England gardeners. In the 1940's
her Great-great-grandmother, Marion Leary founded The
Hudson Gladiola Farm, was featured in magazines of her
day and had the honor of having Henry Ford as one of
her regular clients.
Open for 9 years, Spruce in now considered one of New
Yorks most highly acclaimed and awarded flower
boutiques. Their work has been featured in several
national magazines and Gaige has been referenced as a
New York "celebrity" floral designer. Their work is
sought after daily to design for New York's elite,
they have been written about in several design books,
and appeared on local television news. Gaige invented
Spruce's brand of floral design coined "New England
Garden" and recently created, designed and launched
her second store along with her new line of SPRUCE
soap, and packaging.She is now is in the process of
writing a book about her experiences with Spruce.
Aside from Spruce, Gaige is a trained Reiki Master and
hopes to someday use this training to help teenage
adolescents with drug addiction. She lives in Chelsea
with her cat Wayne and on the weekends she can be
found at her home in Woodstock, New York, where she is
working to build a rare Orchid greenhouse. In her
spare time, Gaige plays drums and writes songs for
Pouncer, a trio band she helped create with two
friends.
